Mark 4:40 - "Then He asked them, 'Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?'"
The context of this verse comes from the story of Jesus calming the storm on the water. Waves were crashing over the boat, wind was howling around them, and there was Jesus sleeping soundly on a cushion. The disciples had been with Jesus long enough to see Him perform many miracles, yet they underestimated His power to control their situation.
Does this sound familiar? We have all seen countless miracles performed in our own lives and the lives of others, yet when we are in a "storm" we can't believe He will or can help us. We need to open our eyes to the truth and power of Christ. He has always been faithful to us and will continue to be faithful to us regardless our situation.
Fear is at the center of our lack of faith. We may not be aware of some of our fears but they drive at the heart of your words, actions and attitudes. Do you allow fears to overtake your faith?
